Wyttenbach Meats Worker

Here is how it works:

We would ask you to take your beef to the Wyttenbach Family Farm on Tuesday between 10 am and 2 pm.

The farm is located at E11078 River Road
two miles west of Sauk City
for exact directions,
please call 608-644-1213.

Sometimes the animals are delivered Tuesday evening, or they may be held in pens overnight and delivered at 5:30 a.m.

Wednesday morning to the Meat Market in Baraboo for butchering. They are brought back to Wyttenbach Meats in a refrigerated trailer the next day. Then your beef is aged for a minimum of 7 days before we cut and process your meat.

Pricing: Included in price –

• All normal cutting, double wrapping, and hamburger grinding and packaging (additional charges for items like hamburger patties and sausage products).

• Your beef will be cut to your instructions: size of the roasts, how thick would you like the steaks, how many steaks per package, etc.

• $85 butcher charge per head of beef

• For any animal over 30 months of age, there will be an additional 10 cents per pound charge. Since the discovery of BSE in the United States USDA mandates animals over 30 months of age to be cut and processed a certain way, therefore, this process takes us more time.

• Current Processing charges are 52 cents per pound; animals over 30 months 62 cents per pound. Animals that are over 1000# hanging weight are also 62 cents per pound as they are harder to process and there are additional labor costs.

• We also butcher and process hogs, please contact us for complete details. Hogs are 52 cents per pound for cutting and wrapping with additional charges of 80 cents per pound for smoking ham and bacon and 50 cents to $1.60 per pound for making the sausage products. The butcher charge for custom hogs is $48 per head. Hog are delivered to the farm Monday before noon.
